Staff

Musical Director - Tim Knight

Tim is founder director of the Heritage Singers. This is an Anglican Music Chamber Choir that has toured America, Holland, Hungary and Norway as well as appearing at most Northern Cathedrals and the Ryedale, Swaledale and Northern Aldborough Festivals. He has formed the Heritage Masterworks Chorale, a concert choir performing unusual and often neglected repertoire in fine locations. Tim was a Chorister at York Minster under Dr Francis Jackson and he studied Choral Conducting under the direction of the late John Coates. He teaches singing in a variety of styles and runs singing holidays in various locations around the UK and in Europe. As a composer his work is currently being distributed worldwide.  Click here to visit Tim's own web site.

Organist – Chris Denton

Christopher Denton, another Leeds based musician, studied music at the University of Sussex in Brighton. After nine years working as an organist and choir director in the are he took up the organ scholarship at Chichester Cathedral. In 1998 he moved to a parish in southern Norway working as a full-time organist, choir director and music teacher. He has toured with choirs both as accompanist and music director and given concerts in USA and Europe.  Click here to visit Chris' web site.

Getting there

If you are having trouble with reaching the location then please let us know and we may be able to arrange something to help you. 
 

Accommodation

We will be staying at Brackenhurst accommodation, a university halls situated 1 mile away from the Minster.
The accommodation is ensuite single bedrooms, there are 6 to a flat and a kitchen is provided for use. There is car parking available onsite.
Breakfast will be provided and included in the cost of the course. Other meals will need to be arranged independently.


Services

Friday’s evensong is optional to allow for those who cannot make it due to work commitments, your accommodation will remain the same and you will still be booked a room for the Friday night. Saturday will consist of rehearsals to prepare for the evensong at 5:45 and the Sunday services.
Sunday will have a morning communion and an evensong at 3:30 to allow people to travel home that evening.
We intend to be robed for services, however if you don’t have access to a robe please call and one can be arranged for you.


Costs

The cost for the weekend is £90
This includes:
    Accommodation
    Breakfast
    Tuition
    Music
So all other meals you will need to arrange yourself. Upon booking information packs will be sent out to you to help you with planning where to eat.
If we manage to get enough attendees there will be some extra money that we will put back into the course possibly for a welcome party or a Sunday lunch. We are a charitable organisation so you should see the money you spend put back into this and future courses.

We are attending to recruit a balanced choir so places are limited in relevance to your part so please book soon to avoid disappointment.
